About The Tiny House Project
The Tiny House Project builds tiny house emergency shelters and permanent homes for veterans and the houseless. For over 11 years, we’ve been on a mission to save lives, restore dignity, and provide a hand up—not a handout.
We are currently fundraising to build our permanent base of operations and Veteran Village, which will allow us to expand our work nationwide. If you’re passionate about helping people, creating change, and doing something meaningful, we’d love to have you on our team.
Position Overview
The Fundraising Intern will assist in developing, organizing, and executing fundraising campaigns, donor outreach, and grant research. This role offers a flexible schedule, remote work, and the opportunity to make a real impact while gaining hands-on nonprofit experience.
Responsibilities

Research and identify funding opportunities (grants, sponsorships, partnerships, and donors)

Assist with grant writing and donor communication

Help plan, create, and execute fundraising campaigns to meet goals

Maintain accurate donor and fundraising records

Collaborate with marketing and outreach efforts, including social media and email campaigns

Conduct research on donor trends and fundraising best practices

Contribute creative ideas to engage donors and expand our funding base

Attend regular Zoom check-ins with the CEO and collaborate with other interns
Qualifications

Passion for helping people, housing veterans, and supporting the houseless

Interest in nonprofit work, fundraising, marketing, or social impact

Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Empathetic, emotionally intelligent, and team-oriented

Organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven

Creative and proactive in problem solving

Fundraising experience preferred, but not required

Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with people from diverse backgrounds
